Stamford Twin Rinks (STR) is offering its 12^th annual Summer Group Lesson Skating Camp from June 23 – August 22 and STR Summer Hockey Camps from June 16 – August 29. These popular camps are fun for recreational and aspiring figure skaters and hockey players alike, including beginners.

Group Lesson Camp:  The daily program for ages 6 - 11 includes two skating lessons and practices and two rotating activities, such as hip hop, jazz and theater dance, fitness, art, chess, and Critter Caravan.  A parallel camp for Teens, ages 12 – 14, incorporates one group lesson and one freestyle practice session, as well as a dance or fitness activity, daily.  STR boasts the only ‘Excellence on Ice’ professional coaching staff on the east coast and offers one of the country’s largest U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Programs. 

There are three 3-week camp sessions; single weeks are available.  Camp runs Monday - Friday, from 9:00 AM – 1:20 PM.  Skating instructors and camp counselors help children change clothes and put on their skates (rental skates are available). 

Hockey Camp:  Weekly Elite AAA and House Level camps teach checking, defense, shooting, stick handling, goaltending, power skating, and much more. Led by former NY Ranger Mike Backman, a team of accomplished national and collegiate players are hand-picked for their knowledge of the game and their enthusiasm and passion for teaching hockey.  

About STR:  Conveniently located at 1063 Hope Street in Stamford, just minutes from the Merritt Parkway and Connecticut State Thruway, STR is a modern, full service facility with two NHL-regulation size ice rinks, a professional-grade dance studio, activity rooms, an upscale café and restaurant, sports shop, and parking.  All campers may bring lunch or order from STR’s Big Apple Smoothie café.
