In addition to live performances, Curtain Call, Stamford's longest-running, community-based theatre operation, offers an abundance of educational programming, including their full-day Summerstock Performing Arts Workshops.
Summerstock 2008: A Summer of Shakespeare and Seuss!!!
In conjunction with the 5th anniversary of their Shakespeare on the Green and 18th Summer Youth Theatre production, Seussical the Musical, Summerstock 2008 explores two artists who've inspired us through language.
- Summerstock Creative Theatre: Green Eggs and Hamlet, June 25-July 3; Mon.-Fri., 9:30am-4:30pm for ages 11 to 16. Examine Shakespeare and Seuss from different theatrical perspectives using different acting techniques!
- Summerstock Musical Theatre: From Bard to Broadway July 7-18; Mon.-Fri., 9:30am-4:30pm for ages 11 to 16. Explore musicals based on the works of Shakespeare, and how classical literature is transformed to Broadway hit!
- Summerstock Junior: Thing One and Thing Two, two separate two-week sessions. Thing One: July 21-Aug. 1 and Thing Two: Aug. 11-22; Mon.-Fri., 10am-3pm for ages 6 to 10. A well-rounded creative experience, including acting, movement, voice, theatre design and stage craft. Each session creates a showcase based on themes from Dr. Seuss!
